Metaphors for designers working with AI

In this paper, we explore the use of metaphors for people working with artificial intelligence, in particular those that support designers thinking about creation AI systems. Metaphors both illuminate and hide, simplifying connecting to existing knowledge, centring ideas, marginalising others, shaping fields practice. The practices machine learning intelligence draw heavily on metaphors, whether black boxes, or idea learn-ing training, but at edges field, as design engages computational practices, it is not always apparent which terms are used metaphorically, associations can be safely drawn on. look some ways deployed around ask where they might lead us astray. We then develop qualities useful finally a small collection helpful different aspects way thinking.
